FALAK SHER VS GOVERNMENT OF THE PUNJAB Crime and punishment---Scope---Interest of society is that every crime should be punished--- Punishment may be in the form of imprisonment or fine or both---In some cases law may also provide for forfeiture of property---Generally, offender is responsible for the offence himself but in certain situations law may hold another person vicariously liable for it.
