MUHAMMAD ASLAM VS State Ss. 302(b) & 324---Qatl-i-amd, attempt to commit qatl-i-amd---Appreciation of evidence---Sentence, reduction in---Interested and related witnesses---Scope---Accused was charged for committing murder of the deceased by inflicting churri blows and also injured his wife---Defence objected that eye-witnesses were interested being closely related to the deceased, hence not reliable---High Court observed that mere close relationship of the witnesses with the deceased had no bearing to discard their testimony---Appeal against conviction was dismissed, however, the sentence was reduced from death penalty to life imprisonment.
