KALIA Benefit of doubt---Scope---Benefit of doubt to accused person is deep rooted---Prosecution is duty bound to prove its case beyond the shadow of reasonable doubt and if any single or slightest doubt is created, benefit of same must go to the accused and it will be sufficient to disbelieve the prosecution story---Benefit of doubt would go to the accused, regardless of the fact that he has taken such plea or not.
