GHULAM ALI SHAH VS GOVERNMENT OF GILGIT-BALTISTAN S. 34---Payment on interest---Scope---Section 34 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 provides that when amount of compensation is not deposited on or before taking possession of the land, the Collector shall pay the amount awarded with interest thereon at the rate of 8% per annum from the date of taking possession of acquired land until payment of amount to the affectees.
