AHMAD OMAR SHEIKH VS GOVERNMENT OF SINDH through Chief Secretary art. 10---Safeguards as to arrest and detention--- Scope--- In particular, especially during challenging times, the courts must ensure the Constitutional guarantees/protections provided to the citizens of the country through the Constitution and protect them from any misuse or abuse by the executive authorities especially when the liberty of the individual is at stake which is one of the most important fundamental rights guaranteed by the Constitution---Without the jealous protection of liberty and other fundamental rights by the courts people are nowhere both as a State and citizen of that State and the road to chaos and tyranny would not be far away.
