MUHAMMAD ZAHID VS State S. 497---Bail---Scope---Grant of bail in offences not falling within the ambit of prohibitory clause is the rule and refusal an exception, with the exception becoming operative where, as a result of bail being granted, there was (i) the likelihood of the accused absconding, (ii) an apprehension of the accused tampering with the prosecution evidence, or (iii) the danger of the offence being repeated---Exception can also be operative if the accused is a previous convict.
