ADEEL HANEEF SIDDIQUI VS State Ss.249-a & 265-K---acquittal at any stage---Object, purpose and scope---It is rule of thumb of criminal law that no offence should go unchecked and no offender should go unpunished but it is also necessary that an innocent person should not be put under wheel of criminal law without any fault---For such reason Legislature has equipped courts with a mechanism 'to nip the evil in the bud' by invoking Ss.249-a & 265-K Cr.P.C.
