SAQIB ALI VS GOVERNMENT OF PUNJAB Post of Hardware and Network Technician in police force---Provisional appointment letter, withdrawal of---Appointee booked in a murder case before joining duty---Appointee subsequently acquitted from the case on basis of compromise---Whether appointee had right to appointment on basis of provisional appointment letter---Held, that although the petitioner (appointee) was provisionally offered the job but he had not joined the same---When in the very (provisional) appointment letter, it was clearly mentioned that the appointment of the petitioner shall be subject to verification of his character, the petitioner could not claim a right to appointment on the basis of the such appointment letter---Petition for leave to appeal was dismissed and leave was refused.
