ABDUL MAJEED VS ABDUL SAMMAD S. 561-a---Inherent powers of the High Court--- Scope--- High Court possessed inherent powers under S. 561-a, Cr.P.C., to ensure substantial justice and prevent any abuse of judicial process within its jurisdiction---High Court's powers under S. 561-a, Cr.P.C., were not contingent upon the filing of an application or petition by any party, rather the Court may invoke such inherent powers suo-motu when it identified an abuse of the judicial process or when an action was deemed necessary to serve the ends of justice---Section 561-a, Cr.P.C., allowed the High Court to intervene independently to prevent injustice, correct procedural wrongs and uphold the integrity.
