Ch. Sadaqat Ali VS Member (Judicial-ii), Board of Revenue, Punjab S.23---Qanun-e-Shahadat, (10 of 1984), Art.114---Principle of estoppel---Applicability---Contract not enforceable under law---Petitioner was aggrieved of proceedings before the Board of Revenue regarding suit land which had been mutated in favour of respondent---Validity---Any contract offending vested rights of aparty is not enforceable in law, however, a party alleging deprivation of such right is bound to challenge the same through appropriate proceedings---Petitioner did not challenge the compromise and could not question its credibility in collateral proceedings to bypass doctrine of promissory estoppel---Petitioner had signed compromise deed along with others after receiving Rs. 12 crore and was estopped from challenging attestation of mutation in favour of respondent---High Court declined to interfere as petitioner failed to establish fraud on part of respondent or his locus standi to initiate proceedings---Constitutional petition was dismissed in circumstances.
