MUHAMMAD IBRAHIM VS STATE. Benefit of doubt---Principle---Scope. The benefit of any doubt which arises in the mind of a prudent person must be extended to the accused, not as a matter of concession or favour, but as a matter of right. The prosecution is bound to prove its case against the accused beyond reasonable doubt and if any reasonable doubt exists in the prosecution case, the same must go in favour of the accused.
