MRS. TASNEEM ABBAS VS ADDITIONAL DISTRICT JUDGE, LAHORE. Art.84---Qanun-e-Shahadat (10 of 1984)---Comparison of handwriting or signatures by Court---Scope and caution. Courts have power to compare admitted signatures with disputed signatures. However, comparison of signatures by Court itself is a matter requiring great care and caution. Where Judge compares handwriting or signatures with documents produced before him without assistance of expert opinion, such comparison is hazardous and may be inconclusive. Courts should adopt cautious approach while exercising power of comparison under Article 84 of Qanun-e-Shahadat, 1984.
