SAID-UR-REHMAN VS State. Ss.302(b), 201 & 34---Recovery of incriminating material. Recovery of small blood-stained portion of mat along with axe and knife was claimed. Articles were sent to Forensic Science Laboratory after almost one month of recovery, creating serious doubts regarding chain of custody. Firearm weapon and spent bullets were also sent together which affected reliability of forensic findings. Reliance on FSL report was not safe in circumstances. Appeal against conviction was allowed.
