Parvaiz VS State Ss. 302(b), 324, 504, 148 & 149---Qatl-i-amd, attempt to commit qatl-i-amd, intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace, rioting armed with deadly weapons and unlawful assembly---Appreciation of evidence---Circumstantial and physical evidence---Bullet marks and spent casings corroborating manner of occurrence---Accused were charged with committing the murder of the wife of the complainant's brother by firing---Investigating Officer noted numerous bullet impacts, approximately eight to nine, on the iron door of the house, entirely in line with the claim that the accused continued firing after the door was closed---Investigating Officer also recovered five spent pistol casings from just outside the entrance, confirming that multiple shots had been discharged from the threshold of the house---Physical layout, as described in the site inspection and depicted in the photographs, showed the cot inside the courtyard positioned behind the complainant party, affirming the prosecution's explanation that when the accused fired towards the complainant and his brothers, who threw themselves to the ground, the bullets continued forward and struck the deceased seated behind them---Circumstances established that the prosecution had proved its case beyond reasonable doubt; however, due to mitigating circumstances, the death sentence was converted into imprisonment for life---With said modification in sentence, appeal against conviction was dismissed, accordingly.
