Judgment text as reported

AZHAR IQBAL VS STATE. Motive---Scope---Evidentiary value. If prosecution evidence regarding ocular account, recovery of weapons of offence and medical evidence is disbelieved, accused cannot be convicted and sentenced merely on the basis of motive alleged against him. Motive is a double edged weapon which may provide reason for commission of offence as well as reason for false implication of accused. Motive alone cannot establish guilt unless supported by reliable and confidence inspiring evidence.
