SINDH IRRIGATION AND DRAINAGE AUTHORITY VS PROVINCE OF SINDH. S.5---Limitation Act (IX of 1908)---Condonation of delay---Preferential treatment to Government departments---Scope. While considering grounds for condonation of delay, no extraordinary clemency, compassion or preferential treatment can be accorded to Government departments, autonomous bodies or private organizations. All litigants are required to be treated equally and their cases must be examined according to same legal principles applicable to ordinary citizens. Government departments cannot claim special privilege in matters of limitation.
